Something about spring makes me feel restless. The time of transition, rebirth of life, and renewal-suddenly my body and mind a ready to move onto a new and exciting adventure. This year has been a bit more confusing with years past with the sudden transition. We had such a minimal winter experience that my mind is a bit confused about this spring. So instead of going into full out transition mode I am focusing on the little things.
This week it has been the "little things" that make me smile:
* The smell of lilacs and pine in the air
* The gentle sound of rain on my rooftop, pairs well with barefoot walks on the rain-soaked concrete
* The soft tinkling of my earrings in the gentle breeze-they sound like mini wind chimes on my ears :)
* The feel of a cool breeze on my skin during on a long hot run
* The unending hug from a good friend (an under-appreciated art-the comfortable lasting hug). Quick "good-bye hugs" don't count.
* A smile from a friendly stranger/neighbor
* And hilarious little chicks with zesty attitudes:
(It still makes me giggle-and there's a whole book of these!)

I love comfortably long hugs. :-)
